Steve O’Neal is the driving force behind Green Knight Security’s unwavering commitment to integrity, service, and client-first security solutions. With decades of hands-on experience in law enforcement, military service, security management, crime and loss prevention, and investigations, Steve has built his career on anticipating, recognizing, and mitigating crime risks across nearly every type of property and operation.

Early in his career, Steve served honorably in law enforcement and the military, gaining a deep understanding of crime prevention, covert operations, executive protection, and surveillance. His extensive qualifications — from POST and FLETC certifications to advanced interview and interrogation training — have shaped him into a true expert in the security field. Today, he holds multiple industry licenses and certifications, including BSIS Guard & Firearm Licenses, Certified Homeland Security (CHS-III), and a Certified Forensic Interviewer credential.

When Steve transitioned out of law enforcement in the early 2000s, he saw a clear opportunity: to build a security company that prioritizes customer service above all else. After managing more than 100 security and loss prevention professionals — and witnessing firsthand the shortcomings of typical contract security firms — Steve founded Green Knight Security with a mission to deliver trustworthy, responsive, and ethical protection.

Steve’s leadership style is rooted in persuasive coaching and positive, cross-organizational collaboration. He is known for extracting the maximum value from his team and stakeholders, creating a culture of accountability, loyalty, and high performance. At Green Knight Security, he’s instilled a simple but powerful principle: customer service over volume. Proven administrative, managerial and communications skills. Background includes physical security, covert operations, law enforcement, investigations, executive protection, policy development and surveillance.
